North is wide-open spaces and a closer relationship with nature. I chose North as a metaphor for my thoughts on design. North is about adapting to your environment and experiencing it with all your senses.
It is within this landscape that my designs are born. A product is not merely an object but an object in space, society and time. As a designer I use this ‘big picture’ in which my designs function. They are as much an answer, to a personal question or fascination, as the shaping of an object. I use no more than two words, or a short sentence, as a concept. This keeps me focused on conveying that concept in my design.
